Automated creation of new Expressions sites is no longer supported.

If you need a website, submit our new site request form.

The Site Manager tool is no longer available.

To manage an existing site, go to {netid}.expressions.syr.edu/wp-admin directly.

For help with an existing site, submit a ticket.

Expressions now runs on a new version of PHP.

Platform Guidelines

  • Keep WordPress core current. Sites are being updated to the latest supported release as part of the migration.
  • Turn on automatic updates for WordPress and your plugins.
  • PHP 8.x is the target version. Sites still on PHP 7.4 are being upgraded and may need theme or plugin updates.
  • Sites are scanned for malicious code. A site with a critical finding is taken offline until it is remediated.
  • Keep plugins and themes updated. Unmaintained or known-vulnerable plugins are removed.
  • Sites without an active NetID owner will be retired.
